We are excited to offer a class on natural beekeeping for our June 9th Second Saturday workshop from 11am to 1pm. There has been much interest in honeybees and beekeeping in recent years due to a rapid decline in honeybee populations. Backyard beekeeping is just one of many ways to support and get to know honeybees. This workshop will be a primer into the world of bees and will cover the history of beekeeping, colony collapse and disorder, ways we can help honeybees, the basics of starting a hive and how to seasonally manage a hive. Courtney Cosgriff a local beekeeper, clinical herbalist, and certified nutritionist from Morrison, CO will be leading the workshop.
Courtney is the owner of Honeybee Herbals a small business dedicated to provide Earth-centered healing and education in the hopes of restoring our connection to the natural world. Courtney has been keeping bees for over 5 years along the front range and has been actively teaching communities about them since than, she feels very called to be a strong voice for the honeybees in trying times.
Tickets are $20 and all proceeds support The GrowHaus' mission of ensuring lasting access to healthy food. Please feel free to come early and join us for a free public tour at 10:00 am to learn more about The GrowHaus. You can buy tickets on our event webpage, here.
