THE GROWHAUS
Cultivating Food Justice in North Denver
We’ve Distributed 1 Million No-Cost Meals!
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic two years ago, our team of frontline heroes have distributed the equivalent of 1 million no-cost meals to families living in Globeville and Elyria-Swansea (GES). These meals have provided comfort, nourishment, and peace of mind to our neighbors, during some of their most challenging moments.
During the best of times, accessing food, particularly fresh food is difficult for our community. The pandemic disproportionately affected our neighbors and exacerbated their need for food access. Community members were leaving notes on our door asking where to find food and 76% of households we surveyed reported a decrease in their income.
You and our community of supporters were there to help. Together, we adapted to our neighbors’ urgent and immediate need for food access and began packing and delivering no-cost food boxes to 400 families every week.
Thanks to our supporters and our Tambien monthly giving community for helping to make this incredible impact possible.
A Note from our Executive Director, Giselle Diaz Campagna
Welcome, and thank you for visiting The GrowHaus website! The GrowHaus is a non-profit organization in North Denver’s Globeville and Elyria-Swansea (GES) community. We work to cultivate community-driven food justice through food access, youth education, and community outreach.
Food access is our starting point, but security, wellness, and happiness are our goals.
We are striving to become a community-driven organization, meaning that all programs are led and supported by community members.
The GrowHaus is committed to ensuring healthy food access in Globeville and Elyria-Swansea during the COVID-19 crisis
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, The GrowHaus has taken several steps to support residents of Globeville and Elyria-Swansea (GES), ensuring that they are receiving food and have information and resources to support themselves in this difficult moment.
At the best of times, accessing food -- especially healthy food -- is difficult for our community. The necessity of social distancing, economic disruption, and health risks make this moment especially challenging.
