The GrowHaus is run by a talented and committed team of Denver residents. Many of our team members live in the neighborhoods we serve, bringing local knowledge and trusted relationships that make our programs effective.
PROGRAM LEADS
Giselle Díaz Campagna | Executive Director
Giselle is a veteran nonprofit leader, fundraiser, and program developer. She has held executive management appointments at various local and national nonprofit, media, healthcare, and higher education organizations.
She attended the University of South Florida with a major in Communications. Her love for the outdoors and adventure drove her to Colorado, where she found a great community of urban food growers and her forever adopted home.
Giselle's lifelong commitment to expanding fresh food access brought her to The GrowHaus, after years of volunteering and working with local organizations to strengthen Colorado's local food systems. When she is not out tending to her vegetable garden, Giselle explores life as a yoga teacher, snowboarder, and creative writer.
Nina Roumell | Senior Director of Development, Partnerships, and Communications
Nina has lived in the community and worked at The GrowHaus for the past eight years. Nina started as a Development and Communications Coordinator and grew into the Director of Development role, with the support of mentors and robust professional development training.
Nina manages key partnerships with government agencies, foundations, individuals, our Tambien community, corporations, and strategic partners to raise over $3 million annually. She also manages multi-million dollar grant programs, evaluations/ reporting, and budgets. Nina couples large multi-year investments with earned revenue and other sources of philanthropic dollars to ensure no program at The GrowHaus relies on a single funding source or funder.
Ariel Lara | Business Operations Director
Ariel Lara is an operations and facilities leader with 15 years of cross-functional experience spanning health administration, federal compliance, and project management. As an Operations Manager, he directed comprehensive community operations, ensuring strict regulatory alignment while boosting financial performance. Ariel holds a Master of Public Administration and possesses a deep background in managing complex infrastructure, mitigating risks, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
His operational expertise directly fuels Ariel's passion for The GrowHaus. His commitment to service is proven by 15 years of grassroots youth coaching and organizing annual international initiatives for orphans in Bolivia. Fluent in Spanish and Quechua, Ariel connects authentically with people from different backgrounds. He is eager to leverage his background in logistics and facilities to keep The GrowHaus running seamlessly, helping local families to thrive.
Nina Marti | Director of Community Programs and Engagement
Nina is an experienced nonprofit leader focused on building effective neighborhood programs. As Director of Community Programs and Engagement at The GrowHaus, she leads initiatives that strengthen neighborhood partnerships, support local families, and expand fresh food access.
Nina was born and raised just outside of Washington, DC, and has been a Denver resident since 2022. With a background spanning arts education, outdoor education, and workforce development programs, Nina brings a practical, hands-on approach to everything she does. Earlier in her career, she worked with organizations like the National Park Trust to create outdoor learning opportunities for students across the country.
When she's not working, you can find her on stage in local theaters, at the climbing gym, or camping and hiking with her two dogs.
Madeline Atmore | Senior Development Manager
Maddy grew up in California, then moved to Oregon for five years, before making her way to Denver in 2019. She has spent her career as a grant writer and development professional with nonprofits of all sizes and across a range of focus areas. Over the years, she has grown increasingly passionate about connecting nonprofits with the resources they need to serve their communities well.
Outside of work, you can find her tinkering in her backyard garden, being an amateur photographer, dancing with her friends, and forever experimenting in the kitchen.
Maria Elena Soterani | Food Access Manager, Fulfillment Operations
Maria Elena is a proactive person, a life-long learner, a hard worker, and capable of achieving anything life puts in front of her without doing harm to anyone else.
She values friendship and the trust of other people. Her work life has changed a lot since she started working with The GrowHaus. She is grateful for how we work as a team, for the job stability, and the support she has received from The GrowHaus. To summarize, she feels very grateful!
Angelo Gallo | Senior Manager of Food Access, Procurement, and Subscriptions
He considers himself a charismatic, spontaneous, hard-working, and outgoing person. He really enjoys listening to music, dancing, running, reading, exercising, and photography. He loves to learn, but his real passion is acting and everything that has to do with the performing arts. Angelo feels very welcomed to The GrowHaus Food Distribution department and is very proud of the work we do!
Brenna Johnson | Community Wellness Education and Engagement Manager
Brenna brings passion and experience working with families and youth through programs that are dynamic, engaging, and impactful. Brenna desires to see families prosper and has dedicated her career to work that promotes wellness for individuals and families. Prior to moving to Denver, Brenna lived in the Dominican Republic for three years, during which she enjoyed learning to cook new foods, eating mangos in excess, and taking vacations to the beach.
Tania Gonzalez | Community Programs and Food Access Promotora and SNAP Specialist
Tania is currently a student at MSU Denver, where she's working on receiving her bachelor's degree in biology. She wants to pursue a career in the medical field, specifically neurosurgery! In her position at The GrowHaus as an apprentice health navigator and, more recently, doing SNAP outreach, she has become passionate about helping her neighbors.
Abby Mendez | Community Programs and Food Access Promotora
Abby graduated from MSU Denver with a double major in Criminal Justice & Criminology and Psychology with a concentration in clinical counseling. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and trying new restaurants and fun places in Denver!
Abby's passion for working with youth and community health is what brought her to The GrowHaus, where she hopes to make a lasting impact !
