In May, we dug deep into what solidarity looks like! During our También Day of Action, The GrowHaus team and some of our También monthly members spent the day planting vegetable gardens at homes in Elyria, Denver. These gardens will help families participating in our no-cost food access program grow their own fresh food right in their yards.

We are endlessly grateful to our amazing team for leading with skill, care, and contagious good humor, to our También volunteers for giving their time and hearts so generously, and to our neighbors for trusting us in this partnership. Together, we are building lasting resilience. This is community in action!
You, too, can be part of the food justice solution. También members provide reliable funding that allows our team of community leaders to confidently plan for the future, explore innovative food access solutions, and quickly respond to neighbors’ needs. Join this special community to help ensure more people in Denver have access to fresh food.

One Year Providing Fresh Food With Tepeyac Health Center
Through our partnership with Tepeyac Health Center, providers prescribe fresh food access from The GrowHaus to neighbors experiencing chronic illness. During a program feedback session, we learned that after receiving a food box for just a couple of months, one participant lost over 30 pounds, and their pre-diabetes indicators were moving toward normal levels! We are thrilled to be scaling this program to reach more neighbors after one year of partnership!
Multigenerational Cooking Classes at Home
Our Community Wellness Education and Outreach Team has begun leading Cocina Conmigo (Cook With Me) during home visits. In these multigenerational cooking classes, children and their caregivers build healthy habits and deepen their connection to food and each other. Through this program, we have witnessed the strengthening of familial bonds, the celebration of culture, and the cultivation of leadership skills among our youth.
