It all Started with Food
By Giselle Diaz Campagna, Executive Director
“We feel deeply seen, trusted, cheered on, and supported by you! Together, we have created transformative food justice solutions driven by the communities we serve.
The GrowHaus is much more than a food access organization - here, we grow community leaders. Many of our team members now stepping into management roles for the first time in their careers, have deep roots in the communities we support. Their leadership and guidance bring important lived-experience perspectives to the strategic decisions charting our path forward.”
Two Years Later, I’m an Assistant Manager
By Maria Elena Soterani, Assistant Manager of Food Access
“Like me, I learned that many people in GES are immigrants and, unfortunately, are experiencing food insecurity. As a mother, it’s very fulfilling to know that I am helping other parents and caregivers provide food for their families. Food access is a cause close to my heart.
I’m very proud of how our programming has grown. We have included new families in our no-cost food box program and are now working with Boys & Girls Clubs and Denver Public Library.”
Opening The Gates
By Michelle Rodriguez
“My Seed2Seed experience in 2018 was life-changing and opened the gates for me to be a more confident person.
Beyond learning to eat healthier, I discovered that I like connecting with new people and building relationships. Seed2Seed helped me strengthen my communication and public speaking skills, which I now use daily in my job at The GrowHaus.Seed2Seed inspired me to work with my community.
Since the program ended, I have volunteered at community events and worked at the library. I am now an Associate in The GrowHaus’ Development and Food Access Team while completing my business degree.
Our Community
An Update on The GrowHaus’ Building Closure from Executive Director, Giselle Díaz Campagna
Welcome, and thank you for visiting The GrowHaus website! The GrowHaus is a non-profit organization in North Denver’s Globeville and Elyria-Swansea (GES) community. When I joined The GrowHaus ago as the Executive Director, I was immediately struck by the passion and commitment of our team. I learned that shortly before the pandemic and after a decade of amazing memories, the team had to make the incredibly hard decision to close our beloved building due to structural issues.
Despite suffering such a traumatic loss, our team of bonafide heroes immediately pivoted their work to respond to our community’s urgent need for food. Everyone began packing and distributing healthy, fresh food to ensure our neighbors were well-nourished during these uncertain times.
