Our community-led team continues to provide fresh food access to our neighbors in Globeville and Elyria-Swansea while also reaching communities across Denver via 24 fresh food access sites. In 2025, The GrowHaus is launching a Community Food Access Fellowship program to equip our team with the skills to manage and sustain community-led food markets.

2022 Milestone: The GrowHaus Delivers 1 Million No-Cost Meals!
During the best of times, accessing food, particularly fresh food, is difficult for our community. The COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately affected our neighbors in Globeville and Elyria-Swansea (GES) and exacerbated their need for food access. Our neighbors were leaving notes on our door asking where to find food, and 76% of households reported a decrease in their income. The GrowHaus responded.
Between the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and March 2022, our team of frontline heroes distributed the equivalent of 1 million no-cost meals to families living in Globeville and Elyria-Swansea (GES). During some of their most challenging moments, these meals provided comfort, nourishment, and peace of mind to our neighbors.
Our community of supporters were there to help. Together, we adapted to our neighbors’ urgent and immediate need for food access and began packing and delivering no-cost food boxes to 650 families every week.

Those 650 families were our neighbors, friends, colleagues, and relatives. Rogelio and his wife have been receiving a no-cost food box. Rogelio has been on disability since 2013, and his wife recently lost her job working at a laundromat. Rogelio’s 18-year-old daughter, who graduated from North High School, has been his caretaker while his wife looks for a new job. The limited income Rogelio receives through disability goes towards his medical expenses. “I have a friend who often stops by the house to check in on me and say hello. He told me The GrowHaus was distributing no-cost food boxes,” said Rogelio. “My wife called that afternoon, and the following week, there was a box of fresh food sitting on our doorstep. It’s such a relief. We no longer have to worry about not having enough food on the table.”
